Andrew Byron

Andrew G. Byron, age 34, of Orange Park, Florida, Formerly of Edwardsville, Illinois, died December 19, 2002 , in Jacksonville, Florida. Funeral services at 9 AM on Tuesday, December 24, 2002, at Weber Funeral Home in Edwardsville, IL. Burial was at Woodlawn Cemetery in Edwardsville, IL. Early in his life, ANdrew was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy. In spite of his disability, he was active at Edwardsville High School and social groups. Andrew graduated from EHS in 1987, in the top 1.5 percent of his class. He received a number of academic scholarships, including one to the University of Southern California School of Cinema/Television. He received his Master of Arts degree from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville in 1996. He was a former member of the Sons of the American Revolution, and the George Rogers Clark Chapter of Edwardsville, IL. He was also a member of St. John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church of Jacksonville, FL. He is survived by his parents, Judge Nicholas G. and Mary (Barnsback) Byron; 2 brothers: Jonathan (wife Lina) Byron, and Christopher (wife Kathleen) Byron; 2 sisters: Mary Elizabeth (husband Tarek) Baya, and Barbara E. Byron; a niece, 2 nephews and his friend and caregiver, Mary Register.
