Alberta Ann (Bartels) Ringering

 Alberta Ann (Bartels) Ringering, age 84, of Glen Carbon, IL, formerly of Moro, IL, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2024, in Glen Carbon. She was born on January 22, 1940, in Fort Russell Township, IL. the daughter of the late Albert & Louise (Johnson) Bartels. Alberta worked for the ASCS Office (Dept. of Agriculture) right out of high school, took a break to have children and went back to work and retired after 23 years. She married Marvin R. Ringering on October 27, 1962. at Eden Church in Edwardsville. He preceded her in death on November 21, 2023.
Alberta is survived by two children, son Mark Ringering & wife Kathy of Worden; daughter, Diane Rinkel & husband Ken of Glen Carbon; five grandchildren, Brian Rinkel & wife Sarah, Eric Rinkel & wife Jennifer, Max Ringering, Josua Pochek & wife Lori, Jakob Pochek & wife Brittany; four great grandchildren, Troy & Anna Rinkel, Easton & Emerson Rinkel; brother, Wilbert Bartels & wife Emma Jean; brothers in law, Arlyn Schwalb, Charles Kanning, Kenneth Bivens, Mike Mefford; sisters in law, Berniece Lamb & husband Larry, Gail Wahl & husband Kelly; & many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Verlene Schwalb, Judy Gooch Janet Kanning, Beverly Bivens: & a sister-in-law, Linda Mefford. Alberta was a life member of Eden Church, loved working in the yard, watching her grandson's sports, baking her famous cookies & cakes, and helping anyone with anything. She was also an avid Cardinals fan. A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Eden Church. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the church with Rev. John Roberts officiating. Burial will be at St. James Cemetery in Edwardsville.
