Sandra”Sandy” Dee Welsh, age 67, of Holiday Shores, passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at her residence surrounded by family and friends. She was born August 29, 1954, in Southampton, New York, the daughter of the late Robert B. & Delores (Fanning) Anderson. Sandy is survived by her husband of forty-eight years, Wilbert “Buddy” Welsh, Jr. whom she married on February 3, 1973. She is also survived by two daughters, Kara Steelman & husband John of Edwardsville, Stacy Fox & husband Steve of Hamel, Illinois; five grandchildren, Molly, Adam & Brayden Steelman of Edwardsville, Trevor & Alex Fox of Hamel; two great grandchildren, Kinley & Benson; three sisters, Patricia Doyle of Sun City, Arizona, Susan Grimes & husband Keith of Montauk, NY, April Laine & husband Andrew of West Yarmouth, MA; and one brother, Robert Anderson, Jr. of East Hampton NY. Sandy attended John Marshall Grade School, graduated with the Class of 1972 from East Hampton High School in New York, and received her Nursing Degree from Lewis & Clark Community College in Godfrey, Illinois. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Anderson Hospital, Drs. Malench and retired from Olin Medical. Sandy loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren and traveling to New York to see her family. She will be cremated according to her wishes and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Burial will be at St. James Cemetery in Edwardsville. The family request memorials to BJC Hospice, Alzheimer’s Assoc. or the American Cancer Society in care of Weber & Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville.
