Richard "Rick" Allen Russo
August 29, 1965 - March 1, 2022
Richard “Rick” Allen Russo, age 56, of Edwardsville, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at his residence. He was born August 29, 1965, in Alton, the son of the late Dr. Joseph Robert Russo & Anne Elizabeth (Eustance) Russo. Rick is survived by five brothers: Mark Russo of Pennsylvania, Andrew Russo of Edwardsville, Sean Russo of California, Joe Russo of Edwardsville, and Tim Russo of Edwardsville; by his step-mother Lee Russo of Edwardsville and his former wife Andrea Juris of New York; by a host of beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and sisters-in-law; and by an uncle and a great-niece. Rick was preceded in death by his nephew Whitley Ray Russo. Rick graduated from Edwardsville High School in the Class of ‘83 and from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville in 1989 (B.S Mathematical Studies). He served his community as a social caseworker in New York City and as an educator and tutor in math. His adventurous spirit put Rick on a lobster fishing boat one season, at other times in a far corner of this world. Even though, from premature birth until his passing, he endured greater than a fair-share of challenges to his health, Rick let shine his imaginative wit and charitable soul. Well-wishers are invited to a celebration of life and a memorial on Saturday May 21st at the SIUE Center for Spirituality & Sustainability beginning at 10 AM. NAMIswi.org is suggested for any gifts in honor of Rick Russo.
