Peggy Leanne Gabbert

April 4, 1968 - April 28, 2022

Peggy Leanne Gabbert, 54, of Beardstown, IL, passed away at home April 28th, 2022, in Worden, IL, surrounded by her loved ones. A celebration of life will be held at The First Southern Baptist Church of Beardstown, 900 Grand Ave, Beardstown, IL, Saturday May 14th, at 2:30. Peggy was born in Rushville, IL, the daughter of Robert and Maizie Meyer, who raised her in Beardstown, where she graduated high-school and raised her own family. Once her children were in high-school, Peggy went on to receive her bachelor's degree in special education. As a special education resource teacher Peggy believed that every child deserved the opportunity to learn to their full potential. At home Peggy doted on her miniature pincher, Pip, and loved listening to rock music particularly Green Day and Avenged Sevenfold. She also was an avid supporter of the arts and loved painting. Later in life, Peggy enjoyed kicking ass playing Overwatch with her children and husband. Peggy had a big personality and an even bigger heart; she knew no strangers and loved each and every person that came into her life. Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Maize (Merfen) Meyer, two sisters, Lisa Estes and Jodi Meyer. Peggy is survived by her husband Andrew Anderson, of Beardstown; a son Robert Gabbert, wife Lauren and their three children, Vivian, Ezra and Emeri of Worden; two daughters Marissa Gabbert, of Mt. Sterling, IL; and Megan Gabbert of Jacksonville, IL; her brother Ronald Meyer & wife Dawn, of Rushville; two sisters, Kimberly Blackwell of Mt. Sterling; Janet Sue Smith, of Roseville, IL; devoted friend and cousin, Nikki Thomas of Kanas City; and her beloved Pip. Weber & Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville is in charge of arrangements.
