Mary Ellen Bock

Mary Ellen Bock, 66, of Edwardsville, IL, passed away unexpectantly on Monday June 6, 2022, at Christian Hospital in St. Louis. Mary Ellen was born on May 28, 1956, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of the late Stanley P. & Doris C. (Goisdzinski) Pyszynski. After graduating Cody High School in Detroit, she received her BS in Nursing from Wayne State University. After graduation, Mary Ellen joined the Army where she was stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky. There she met her husband of 42 years, Douglas Bock, whom she married on May 2, 1980. Mary Ellen and Douglas had their daughters Deanna, 41, and Michelle, 38, while living in southern Indiana. They moved to Edwardsville, IL in 1987, where Mary Ellen remained dedicated to being a caring mother as well as serving others as a nurse at various locations around the St Louis metropolitan area. She was a witty, smart, thoughtful, devoted, and loving woman who will be missed dearly. Mary Ellen was predeceased by her mother, father, and younger brother, Joseph. She is survived by her husband Douglas; two daughters, Deanna & Michelle; two stepchildren, Rachel and Jeffery: two sisters, Karen and Joyce; and two granddaughters Elizabeth and Charlotte. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, June 10, 2022, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Edwardsville. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, at St. Mary’s with Reverend Robert Jallas officiating.
