Marvin "Preach" Webb Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Marvin “Preach” Webb, age 86, of Edwardsville, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville. He was born January 12, 1936, in Edwardsville, the son of the late John & Lillie (Baldwin) Webb. Marvin was thought of as the goodwill ambassador of Edwardsville to many generations of Edwardsville families. He is survived by two brothers, L.D. Bradford, James Webb & wife Cynthia; five sisters, Lavon Lagrone, Lillie Willis & husband Fred, Pearlie Talbert, Maggie Smith, and Mattie Holmes; and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded by his parents, one brother, Curtis Webb & one sister Julia McKinney. Marvin was a lifelong member of the Mt. Joy Missionary Baptist Church in Edwardsville. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, from 3p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Wildey Theater in Edwardsville. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at the Wildey Theater with Bishop Dr. Jack Townsend officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Edwardsville.
