Mark D. Niebur

August 28, 1964 - March 10, 2022

Mark D. Niebur, age 57, of Edwardsville, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Evelyn’s House in St. Louis, Missouri. He was born August 28, 1964, in Highland, Illinois, to the late Melvin L. & Edna I. (Huelsman) Niebur. Mark resided in San Francisco and Los Angeles throughout his software engineering career with the Oracle Corporation; ultimately moving back to Edwardsville in 2017 where he was surrounded by family. He is survived by one brother, Randy J. (Jo) Niebur of Edwardsville; two sisters, Jan (Mark) Muckensturm of Edwardsville, Gail (Roy) Eagle of Edwardsville; sister-in-law, Debby Niebur. He was preceded in death by one brother, Gary Niebur. He is survived by six nieces and nephews, Micah Harlow, Ashley (Josh) Sharp, Amanda Niebur, Abby Niebur, Andrew Niebur, & Noah Eagle; great niece, Blair; great nephew, Brady; step-nieces Angela Fitch (Doug,) Jennifer Mitch (Jeff), Jamie Markovich (Jeff), step-nephew Scott Eagle (Michelle); and many loving aunts, cousins and great-nieces and great-nephews. Mark graduated from the University of Illinois - College of Engineering – Computer Science, was a Mensa Society member, and had a special place in his heart for his nieces, nephews, and Golden Retrievers. He traveled the world, and often arranged to take family and friends as his guests. A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 14, 2022, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Edwardsville. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at St. Boniface with the Very Rev. Jeffrey Goeckner officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Glen Carbon. The family requests memorials to the Metro East Humane Society.
