Edna I. Niebur

Edna I. Niebur, age 87, of Edwardsville, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at Stillwater Senior Living in Edwardsville. She was born December 7, 1934, in Breese, Illinois, the daughter of the late August & Alice (Schlarmann) Huelsman. Edna married Melvin L. Niebur on June 18, 1953, in Breese. He preceded her in death on February 27, 1987. She is survived by two sons, Randy J. (Jo) Niebur of Edwardsville, Mark Niebur of Edwardsville; two daughters, Jan (Mark) Muckensturm Edwardsville, Gail Eagle (Roy) of Edwardsville; and daughter-in-law, Debby Niebur. She was preceded in death by son Gary Niebur of Edwardsville. Edna is also survived by six grandchildren, Micah Harlow, Ashley Sharp (Josh) Amanda Niebur, Abby Niebur, Andrew Niebur, Noah Eagle; two great grandchildren; four step grandchildren, Angela (Doug) Fitch, Jennifer Mitch (Jeff), Scott Eagle (Michelle), Jamie Markovich (Jeff). Edna is survived by her best friends & devoted sisters; Dorothy Hasenstab, Evelyn Pakosta, Pauline Billhartz, & Connie Street. Edna was preceded in death by one brother, Herbert “Hugo” Huelsman: and sister Genny Endres. Since the passing of her husband 35 years ago she has been the pillar of the family She was a member of the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella, Who’s New Card Club & Anderson Hospital Auxiliary. The visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 6, 2022, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville and from 10 a.m. till the time of her mass on Monday at St. Boniface Catholic Church. A funeral mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. at the church with the Very Rev. Jeffrey H. Goeckner officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Glen Carbon.
